I did not use the databank, actually.
I'm not positive on the eating habits of banthas, although they strike me as a grazing animal. . . They are able to be milked.

It strikes me that banthas are more of an omnivore, hence the references to turning people into bantha fodder. They don't seem predatory, but they may be scavengers.
